    Accelerator 553SN is a solution of metal complexes, partly based on a cobalt salt in an organic solvent. Accelerator 553SN gives in comparison with the commonly used cobalt accelerator a much faster cure with comparable gel time. Accelerator 553SN is therefore very suitable where a faster demoulding time of the end product is required. Application areas are for instance: Gelcoat, RTM, production of polymer concrete. Accelerator 553SN can successfully be used for the production of cobalt pre-accelerated UP resins. The use of Accelerator 553SN will strongly reduce the gel time drift as observed with standard cobalt. Accelerator 553SN prevents foaming in VE resins with standard MEKP e.g. Butanox M-50.

Detailed description

Accelerator 553SN is a solution of 1.9% metal complexes for curing unsaturated polyester resins in combination with organic peroxide at room and elevated temperatures. Typically recommended for pre-acceleration of vinylester resins to avoid foaming during cure when using standard MEKP.
